Fees & Deposits for Kaydells American Eskimo Puppies
At Kaydells Eskies, we are very passionate about our breeding program and strive to produce healthy, quality puppies with wonderful temperaments. While raising puppies may be a lot of work, it is also very rewarding. Seeing how happy and fulfilling a puppy makes it's new family, is very rewarding.
We ensure that our sires and dams are genetically tested as per the AMerican Eskimo Dog Club of America's recommendations. This includes PRA (Dna), OFA (hips) or PennHip and Eye exams. As Breeders we show our dogs so we have an opportunity to get feedback about what our dogs' strengths and weaknesses are and so we can network with other Eskies across the country. While showing can be expensive it holds us to a very high bar when breeding. Breed standards are in place for a reason, our dogs compete very well in the ring. When we stop competing, our standards will tend to go down...
The cost of veterinary care in the Denver area continues to go up year after year. As an ethical breeder, we cannot continue breeding health tested dogs and puppies without these crucial tests. (A C-section in 2026 cost $3900.00)
With each litter our females will have an ultrasound at about 4 weeks gestation to confirm pregnancy (if we are lucky, we might get an idea of how many puppies there are), then right before delivery they will have an x-ray to confirm number of puppies, size and position of puppies and safety of mom for a natural delivery or a necessary c-section.
Our puppies are raised using the Puppy Culture system introducing the early neurological stimulation at 3 days of age. We use high quality dog food and goats milk for our moms and puppies. All puppies and moms are dewormed 4 times, every other week, starting at 3 weeks of age, vaccinated with DAPPv at 8 weeks of age and have a health check with a veterinarian at 8 weeks of age.
Your puppy will also be AKC and UKC registered and they will be registered with AKC Reunite for their microchip for their safety if they are separated from you.
Toys and Miniatures have fairly small litters - most often only 1-3 puppies. The cost of breeding is therefore a much higher percentage of the fee than for dogs who have larger litters and the likelihood of needing a c-section is also much higher. So because of all of this our Toy and/or Miniature Eskies puppies are more costly than our standards puppies. Puppy prices therefore can range from $2500.00 - $4000.00. This will be discussed and explained clearly in your contract.
If you would like to have one of Kaydells Eskies join your family then please fill out the Puppy Waitlist Application as soon as possible.
Once you are approved for one of our puppies, we will send you a contract to sign and return with your deposit. We do require a $1000.00 deposit and the signed contract to get on our waitlist. Then the final payment for your puppy will be due when your puppy is 6 weeks old.
If you are on the waitlist and there is not a puppy that matches your needs in the next planned litter (e.g. gender), your deposit will keep you on the waitlist so that you may match with a puppy in an upcoming litter.
We hope you decide to join our pack!!!
